Have you ever wanted to find the best deal on an item, but didn't want to spend the time looking for it? Us too. So we got to thinking: What would be the fastest, most efficient way to price check an item?
We decided the best way to do it would be to create a search function within Firefox. So we put together a search plugin and a toolbar. Both do essentially the same thing. Which one you use just depends on your preference.
The idea was simple. We found four sites that scour the web's stores. Two are the web's highest-rated shopping comparison sites - Shopzilla.com and Shopping.com. These sites run your search through databases of hundreds of stores. They give you the stores' prices, so you can quickly see who has the best deal.
Then we realized we wanted our search to give us used results too, so we added eBay to our list.
Finally, we didn't want to leave out the web's best known online retailer, Amazon. So we added it as well.
We wanted to make the search simple and effective. Search for a product using the Ultimate Pricechecker, and you get a couple seconds to decide where you want to "price check" your item. Check all the sites you want to search. Your product search will run through all the checked sites. Each checked site's results will open in a new tab.
The result: you've price checked your item across hundreds of stores with one efficient search, all from within your browser. Hopefully your bargain hunting has become easier now :-P.
