About Us

Website Principles

Here at How to be Websmart, we are dedicated to four principles:

  1. Save

We want to save you time, money, and energy. So we’ve tried to come up with the best strategies to make the Web work for you. Whether it’s how to shop at popular stores, or how to use the Internet to get huge savings on phone calls, or how to save time when reading the news, we hope that our articles will make your life a little easier.

We started with coming up with ways to save people money while shopping. You see, with certain free tools (such as cash back sites, coupon codes, free shipping, rebates, and shopping engines) you can save money at just about any site. And we tried to combine these services into the best strategies we could come up with, so you use the right tools where they can be used, quickly.

But we’ve expanded to a simple idea: let us teach you how to use the Internet to help you save, not just money, but other stuff too. Let us try to help you be Websmart.

  1. Free

There is a lot of free stuff out there, from a program that makes viewing your digital photos easier to free coupon code sites. But this information all over the place, and a lot of it is hard to find. Our mission is to try to find to quality free stuff online, and then explain to you how to use it in the simplest, but hopefully comprehensive, way we can.

  1. Full Disclosure

How to be Websmart is a free consumer information site. We DO hope to make money from this site, and you should know exactly how we do it. That way, you can judge whether we are providing you with real useful strategies, or just referring you to programs/websites/companies and begging for donations, just to make money. You can read how we make money here.

We hope that you find our articles useful, but if not…

4. Interact (with us)

On occasion, our articles may contain inaccuracies or may not have the best information available. If you have a tip, please TELL US. At the end of every article there is an option to ‘Post a Comment’. So please, get involved and make How to be Websmart better.
