What to do

  1. Click here to visit the Hold Mail Service page of usps.com, which is the United States Postal Service Website.
  2. Enter your zip code in the Create a Request box and click Go. Follow the instructions on the page to have USPS hold your mail for a certain period.

A little more

You no longer need to go to the Post Office to fill out a “hold-mail” request card. USPS’s online service is easy to use, and free of charge.

USPS holds your mail for a maximum of 30 days. You can choose to pick up your mail at the Post Office, or you can have it delivered on a certain date. Be prepared to present a photo ID if you choose to pick it up at the Post Office.
