A little more

Do you shop a lot at eBay? Well, we’ve put together the a quick, safer way to shop on eBay that will also save you money.

First, use gumshoo.com when you are searching eBay. Gumshoo is a free eBay search tool that provides you with all kinds of advantages:

  1. It helps eliminate junk listings.
  2. It helps find misspelled auctions.
  3. It helps you see the seller’s 30 day trend.
  4. It provides you with an analysis of seller’s risk, warns you if the item is located in a foreign country, warns you against potential fraud, and alerts you to higher than normal, or unlisted, shipping fees.
  5. It has great filters - for example, allowing you to exclude “used” items, or only searching for products that have “free shipping” - to help you run your search more efficiently.

After you have found what you want to buy, copy the item number and close the eBay window. Then “click through” to eBay again by clicking on the eBay quickcrumb link. Input the item number in the search box, find your item, and bid.

Why go through this process? The simple act of clicking to eBay.com through BigCrumbs.com every time you bid, can get you 36% cash back on the seller’s fees on the items you purchase.

The key is: you have to click through the the BigCrumbs site or use the Quickcrumb link.

It might sound confusing, but here is how it works. If you make it a habit of going through BigCrumbs to eBay every time you place a bid on eBay, you are going to get money back on every winning bid/buy it now purchase/ebay express purchase. It takes a couple of extra clicks, but you get 36% of the seller’s fees as free cash back on your purchases.

How much will you earn? It depends on what the seller’s fees are on the item you place a winning bid on. If you have ever sold anything on eBay, you know that there are two base fees: (1) the insertion fee and the (2) the final value fee, or the percentage of the winning bid you pay eBay. In addition, sellers can pay other fees for services, like a Reserve Fee, a Buy it Now Fee, Listing Upgrade Fee, etc. If you are making a purchase on eBay, you can estimate the seller’s fees by looking at the eBay Fees page.

Not even the seller knows the total fees he or she pays, until after the purchase goes through. Since the final value fee is a percentage, the actual amount is determined by the final winning bid.

The point is, by training yourself to click through BigCrumbs.com every time you go to eBay to bid, you can get huge savings on every purchase you make at eBay. If you are making a big-ticket purchase on eBay, simply clicking through BigCrumbs can add up to huge savings for you, for free.

It is important to note that you don’t get cash back on items you have already won earlier and are merely paying for through BigCrumbs. You actually have to click through BigCrumbs to eBay every time you bid. But if you use the Quickcrumb link strategy we have mentioned above, clicking through becomes a painless process.

Note: We contacted BigCrumbs, and were told that BigCrumbs gives you cash back on purchases made at eBay Express too. To get cash back at eBay Express, click through BigCrumbs to eBay, and then click on the eBay Express link on the left-hand side to go to the eBay Express main page.
