How to Shop at Staples.com
Like to shop at Staples.com? Bookmark this page and use it to maximize your savings every time you shop there.
You Need To Do The Following Only Once
Staples has a free rewards program, so sign-up here. Why? Because Staples Rewards members get free shipping on orders placed at staples.com or over the Staples customer service line, no matter what the size of the order. We suggest using a registration email to sign-up.
Once you have registered, print or save your Staples Rewards confirmation. You will need your customer number. Next, visit Staples.com and log in. If you don’t have a Staples account, go ahead and register. Note: You must register with both Staples Rewards and staples.com – they are separate accounts. Again, we suggest you use a registration email to sign up.
Once you have signed up and logged in to Staples.com, click on the My Account tab, and then click on Personal Information. Click on the Edit link next to Staples Rewards and enter your Staples Rewards customer number. Click the Continue button when you are done.
Now, every time you shop at Staples.com (and log in), you should get free shipping on your order. But don’t go straight to Staples.com. Follow the steps below.
What to do
- Visit FatWallet.com. Log in.
If you need an account, you can register for one for free. We suggest using a registration email. To learn more about FatWallet, read our article Cash Back Sites Explained.
- At FatWallet:
- Search for “staplesâ€.
- On the results page, under store, click on the Staples link. You go to the FatWallet staples.com page.
- Under Cash Back, click on the 4.0% Cash Back Rebate Available! link. You go to the staples.com homepage.
Because you clicked through FatWallet, you get 4% cash back on most purchases. You can use this strategy every time you shop.
Shop normally. Staples offers a lot of rebates, so make sure you click on any appropriate ‘mail-in’ or ‘easy rebates’ link to see what rebates are available for the product you choose. Fill your shopping cart, but DON’T complete your order yet.
Before you check out, return to this page and click on the following links to look for coupon codes applicable to your purchase:
DealCatcher CouponMountain eDealInfo
Copy any relevant coupon code. To learn more about such codes, read our article Coupon Codes Explained.
At Staples.com, once you are done shopping, click the Add/Edit Coupons button to enter any coupons you may have. Complete your checkout.
If there are rebates available for the products you bought, make sure you copy the 10 digit order number that appears on your staples.com confirmation receipt, and the 6 digit item number of each product that has a rebate (they should both also appear in your email receipt). To claim your rebates, visit the Staples.com easy rebates center here. Click on the staples.com purchase button, and then follow the instructions to claim your rebates. That’s it.

Well the good news is that you can save a lot of money at Staples by shopping intelligently. There’s a lot of preplanning and registration to do, but you only have to go through that hassle once. First, make sure you sign up for the Staples Rewards program. Doing so gives you free shipping on your orders through staples.com, no matter how much you spend. Make sure you enter your Staples Rewards customer number into your personal account page to get free delivery – that way, you don’t have to remember to enter it every time you shop. You can also enter it at the checkout page every time you shop, but you’ll have to remember to do it EACH time you shop to get free delivery.
Staples Rewards gives you other benefits, like cash back every time you spend over $200 in a quarter – but we feel that the most important benefit for the average customer is the free shipping. To learn about other Staples Rewards benefits, go here.
When you want to shop at Staples.com, you could go through FatWallet. By clicking to staples.com through FatWallet.com, you get 4% cash back into your FatWallet account every time you make a purchase.
But wait. There could be more savings. Make sure you check for an online coupon code every time you shop. We’ve also included three great sites that track Staples coupon codes. Click on the links to quickly scan for any coupon codes that are relevant to your purchase, and enter them according to the instructions above.
Finally, Staples.com is one of the few websites that makes it easy to claim rebates. Make sure to write down your 10 digit order number and the 6 digit number of each product that has a rebate, and then visit the Staples Rebate Center and follow the instructions. You can submit some rebates online. For others, you have to print out a form, fill it out, and mail it in. Make sure you keep a copy of all original receipts and rebate forms. Be warned – many rebate forms have to be sent in by a certain date, or the rebate is null and void.
